Obituary, 1959. Charles Clarence Hartley, 74, of 1050 Doxey died Monday while visiting in Decatur, IL. Mr. Hartley was the owner of Hartley Electric Company. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the First Congregational Church. He was born in Sep 17, 1883 in Middletown, OH, a son of George A. and Margaret (Williamson) Hartley. He had lived in Mattoon, IL and Salt Lake City prior to coming to Ogden 44 years ago. On Novemeber 11, 1914 he married Rhea Edaline Benefiel in Salt Lake City. She died March 9, 1956 in Ogden. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Rex (Florence) Beckey of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Murphy of Ogden; 6 grandchildren. Burial will be in Ogden City Cemetery.
