• Obituary: Edgeley Mail, 24 May 1914, Edgeley, North Dakota. Mr Elmer Kidder was born in Athol, Mass., November 23, 1835, and died May 24, 1914, of heart complications, aged 78 years, 6 months and one day. At the age of nine years he moved from Massachusetts to Illinois with his parents, and at the age of 20 years, he was married to Elvira Marble, May 6th, 1856. To this union four children were born, one son and three daughters, all of whom are living: Mrs J E Blackburn, of Quincy, Ill., Mrs L P Ormsby of Edgeley, ND., Mr W E Kidder of Merricourt, ND., and Mrs R S McKee of Manila, Iowa. In 1875 he moved from Illinois to Iowa from there to North Dakota in 1907, where he lived with his son until his death. He, with his wife, united with the Congregational church in early life. On May 6th he with his wife celebrated his 58th wedding anniversary. An aged wife and four children mourn his death.
Elmer married Sarah Elvira Marble, daughter of Sidney Marble and Permelia Harvey, on 6 May 1856 in Riley, McHenry County, Illinois. (Sarah Elvira Marble was born on 11 Sep 1835 in Dunham, Missisquoi, Quebec, Canada, died on 11 Dec 1916 in Merricourt, Dickey County, North Dakota and was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, LaMoure County, North Dakota.)
