• General History. William Frybarger is first mentioned as a minor heir (case # 1266) to his father's (Daniel Frybarger) estate on August 27, 1822 at Centre County, Pennsylvania, and his guardian was Phillip Musser. The estate record also mentions Polly, John, George, and Daniel Frybarger as being wards of Daniel Frybarger's estate. This record is located in the Minors Estate Book A page 290.
The Frybarger family moved to Butler County, Ohio and during October of 1832, William and his brother Daniel appeared in probate court to apply for guardianship in the state of Ohio. The record (Butler County, Ohio Testamentary Book 1832, pages 61-62) states the following " Daniel Fryberger et al, Orphan Minors, Butler County, Ohio. Be it remembered that on application the guardianship of the persons and estates of Daniel Fryberger of the age of fifteen years on the ____ day of February last and William Fryberger of the age of fourteen years on the ____ day of September last. Orphans, Minors, Sons, and heirs at law of Daniel Fryberger late of the State of Pennsylvania deceased is granted unto Jacob Rickart until they the said Minors shall respectively arrive at the age of twenty one years according to the form of the statute in such case lately made and provided. The said Guardian with James B. Thomas surety having given bond unto the State of Ohio in the sum of one thousand dollars. October Term 1832."
