• Obituary: Glasco Sun, 8 Dec 1905, Glasco, Cloud County, Kansas. Ruby Lenna Ward was born December 3, 1876, in Cherokee Co., Iowa, and came to Kansas in the fall of 1881 with her parents, and settled near Glasco where she grew to womanhood and lived the remainder of her life.
Was married to Walter Butler on Jan. 2, 1898; to this union were born two sons, Walter Ward, and Baby ( unreadable.) Sister Butler (unreadable) remained a member until the spring of 1904, when she became one of the Charter members of the Advent Christian church and was a faithful member in the same until her disability. She remained strong in the faith, looking for the return of her Lord.
She fell asleep in death, Dec. 1, 1905, at 7:15 a.m., being 28 years, 11 months, 28 days of age. The funeral was held at the Advent Christian church of Glasco, where the writer tried to speak words of comfort from Ps. 17:15 and Prov. 14:32, to the bereaved ones and the many friends that had gathered, Dec. 3rd at eleven o'clock.
Sister Butler had many friends because of her pleasant greetings that she had for everyone she met, and she will be missed in the home, church Helpers Union, Loyal Workers, and everyplace that her cheerful words could be heard. "Though she be dead, yet speaketh."
And thus closes a life that was only begun; why this is we can hardly understand.
Interment was in the Glasco cemetery.
