Obituary, 17 Nov 1932, The Nelson Gazette. Mrs. Fair has been known and loved by the people of this community since her girlhood. Born in Waddams township, Stephensen county (sic), Ills., February 13, 1862, Jennie Margaret Stover moved with her parents in 1872 to a farm in Republic county (sic), Kansas, upon which she made her home until her marriage there to James H. Fair on September 18, 1883. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Fair came to Hardy and established their home in the house which continued to be their residence until Mrs. Fair passed away November 5, 1932. In this home five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Fair. An infant son Charley died in 1886 and Willard passed away in 1926. The eldest son Fred with his family resides near Holstein, Nebr., and the two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Seely and Mrs. Helen Stoddard, with their families reside in Lincoln. These children were with their mother during her illness. -- Hardy Herald
