Mrs. Laura Lettie Badger, nee Loughry, was born in Marshall County, Illinois, December 30, 1865 and departed this life on March 10, 1947 at the home of her son Robert.
She came to north central Kansas when she was a child. On August 28, 1881 she was united in marriage to Samuel B. Badger and spent most of her married life in the vicinity of Webber. To this union four children were born, three daughters and a son: Stella Mae, who died as a small child; Lelia, who passed away in 1936; Lylia Dell Barton of Hastings, Nebraska; and Robert J. of Mankato, Kansas, with whom she made her home since the passing of her husband in 1921.
Her passing was very sudden shortly after midnight, March 10th. She had been visiting in Concordia that day and had apparently felt well. Her death was caused by a heart attack.
She leaves to mourn her loss the son and daughter, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 brother, Samuel Loughry of Almena, Kansas and a host of relatives and friends.
Services were conducted from the Lamb Funeral Home at Jewell and Interment in the Webber Cemetery. Pastor M. N. Tatley of Mankato.
Laura married Samuel B. Badger, son of Samuel Badger and Lida Eiserman, on 28 Aug 1881 in Jewell County, Kansas. (Samuel B. Badger was born on 19 Jan 1858 in Stephenson County, Illinois, died on 23 Dec 1921 in Jewell County, Kansas and was buried in Webber Cemetery, Weber.)
