Charles W. Goosic was born in Warren county, Iowa, December 20, 1861. Coming with his parents to Furnas county, Nebr., October 20, 1878, homesteading near Beaver City, in which vicinity he spent most of his life, making numerous friends. He was united in marriage July 16, 1885 to Maty M. Criddlebaugh, of Beaver City. To this union was born ten children, of whom nin are living and one, Myrtle M., preceding him in death.

He moved to Oxford five years ago, where he died June 1, 1928, at the aged of 67 years, 5 months and 11 days. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and the following children: Verda M. Hall, Beaver City; William A. Goosic and Addie Hall, of Hollinger; Elzie, Earl and Alvin, of Oxford; Virgil G. Goosic, of Ft. Morgan, Col.; Goldie Hurner {should be Turner} of Holdrege; Sylvia Goosic, Oxford; one brother, Jack Goosic, of Sheridan, Wyo.; one sister Delila Nicholson, Beaver City, and 14 grandchildren and also other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church, of Oxford, and burial was made in the Turner cemetery, at Hollinger. Rev. Ahrendts, the pastor, preached the message of comfort to a well filled house. Many beautiful floral designs gave expressions of great sympathy to the mourners.
