Addie S. Hall, daughter of Charles and Matey (Criddlebaugh) Goosic, of Beaver City, Nebraska, passed away Friday, February 19, 1993 at the Beaver City Manor at the age of 99 years, 10 months and 19 days. Addie was born March 22, 1893 in a sod house near Hollinger, Nebraska.
Addie and her family started to Oregon in a covered wagon in 1900 when she was 7 yrs. old. It took 2 years to reach their destination. They immediately started the journey home and arrived back in Furnas County in 1903. On June 9, 1910 she was married to John Hall in the Beaver City court house by Judge Lutton. They lived in Cabool for 9 years. In 1916 Addie was baptized in the Piney River in Missouri by Rev. Ballinger, a Free Methodist Minister.
The family returned to the Beaver City area in 1919. She was a member of
the Eldeen Club from its beginning in 1922 until her health declined in 1991.
She crocheted many pillows, doilies and other things to give away. She also made miniature furniture, using a coping saw and a knife to whittle.
She is survived by 2 sons, Cecil of Hollinger and Bob and his wife JoAnn of
Beaver City, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 7 great, great
grandchildren, daughters-in-law Elsie and Erma of Beaver City and Helen of
Jerome, ID., also a brother, Elzie Goosic of Kingman, AZ and 2 sisters, Goldie Lawter of Kingman, AZ and Sylvia Gouldie of Red Cloud, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, 3 sons, Lowell, Carl and Leonard, daughter-in-law Fayetta, 2 sisters, 4 brothers and 2 great
Services were conducted Monday February 22 by Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City at the Hollinger United Methodist Church with Linda L. Knipping officiating. Music was provided by Helen Weaver of Stamford, Lawrence Kentfield of Beaver City and Wanda Rikli of Oxford. Pallbearers were Lawrence Kentfield, Jerry Warner, Jerry VanMatre, Bill Lamb, Clinton Schluntz, and Richard Dunkhas.
Interment was in Union Cemetery, Hollinger, NE.
