Former Potter Found Dead After Shoveling Snow

Erwin R. Allison, 72, retired potter, died suddenly of a heart attack late Thursday afternoon at his home on the Sub - Station road in Glenmoor. Mr. Allison was found in the yard by his granddaughter on her way home from school. He had collapsed while shoveling snow for a path to the barn about a half hour being found.

Born In Hancock

A son of the late Charles Alexander Allison and Matilda Mercer Allison, he was born Jan. 7, 1872, in Hancock county, and spent his entire life in this community. He was a castor, and retired about 15 years ago. He was active in affairs of the First Presbyterian church, having been a ruling elder since 1920. He also was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Maud Vale Allison; three sons, Harold J. Allison and Charles E. Allison, both of East Liverpool, and Edwin M. Allison of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Wilbur Pittenger and Mrs. Harold V. Betteridge, of East Liverpool; three brothers, Lawrence Allison of East Liverpool, James Allison of Newell, and Hunter Allison of Cleveland; one sister, Mrs. W. B. Thomas, also of East Liverpool,and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral Set Monday

Services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 in the Martin Funeral home by Rev. Arthur E. French Jr., acting pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Burial will be in the Columbiana County Memorial park. Friends may call Saturday night and Sunday afternoon and night at the funeral home.
