Obituary, Feb 1990. Floyd E. Quinn, the son of Mike and Anna Mae (Gilchrist) Quinn, was born on January 2, 1911 in Furnas County, Nebraska and passed away on February 23, 1990 in the hospital in Holdrege, Nebraska at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 21 days.

He was one of five children in the Quinn family and attended rural school in Furnas County. On December 8, 1928, he was united in marriage to Mary Willey and to this union three sons were born: Alonzo, Gerald and Dennis. The family farmed south of Edison until 1946 when they moved to Edison. He worked for the Edison Public School for several years, Obering Gravel Company for six years and the City of Edison for 10 years until his retirement. In 1982 he moved to Oxford where he resided until his death.

Survivors include three sons: Alonzo F. Quinn and his wife, Norma Jean, of Oxford, Gerald M. Quinn and his wife, Joan, of Shelton, and Dennis Quinn and his wife, Jan, of Hay Springs, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella Weir, of Beaver City; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Quinn of Beaver City and Maude Quinn of Caldwell, ID; an aunt, Maude Montonye of Alma; and several nieces, nephews and other friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Frank, Robert and Emery and his parents.

Services were conducted from the Christian Church in Edison, Nebraska on Tuesday, February 27 with Rev. Millard White and Rev. F. A. Hand officiating. Music was provided by Sue Kerr and Maxine Miller.

Pallbearers were Don Paine, Doug McCann, Roy Weatherwax, Robert Shaffer, Terry Draper and Loren Carnes.

Interment was in the Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Nebraska.
